El Gobernador Hotel

Durango, MX

So for the last two days of our trip, we went to the Capital of Durango, named Durango! We stayed at the hotel Gobernador right in the center of Durango. There are local bars, restaurants, museums, and Durango Cathedral, all within walking distance. This hotel is one where we have been staying for more than 20 years every time we come to the city. It has a great pool and a lovely patio with Starbucks! We enjoyed a delicious drink while overlooking the pool and the patio.

Beautiful patio

Enjoy some Starbucks as you overlook the pool.

Hotel El Gobernador is known for its quality and its excellent food. You often see many businesspeople having a meeting during lunch here at the hotel. So it is a posh place to be.

Though while seeing the hotel, it doesn't seem to be up to date. Not sure if they were not maintaining the property during quarantine, but you can tell that the hotel is older. Unfortunately, we had an issue with our room and bathroom and had to change rooms. But it wasn't that much of a hassle changing rooms. Overall, you can tell the maintenance difference from the Restaurants, Lobby, and hotel rooms. The lobby and restaurant are well kept compared to the rest of the hotel. We did stay in the less expensive rooms, so I'm not sure how their suites look? Maybe they look better.

Beautiful view of the lobby.

Hotel El Gobernador

I would stay here again, the staff is charming, but I think it's time to change next time we come to Durango. To try something new for a change.
