A Touch of Disney

Finally, after a little more than a year, I was able to go to Disney California Adventure for their much anticipated "A Touch Of Disney." I was so excited to enjoy outdoor fun at the happiest place on earth finally.

It was very special to me since I was able to take my 1-year-old niece and my 10-month-old daughter! The last time I went to Disney California Adventures, I was a few weeks pregnant, and we went to the Oogie Boogie Halloween Party at Disney CA Adventures!

I attended A Touch Of Disney on March 22, 2021. I got excited just by exiting the freeway off of Ball St. Arriving at the Mickey and Friends parking lot brought some chills, and I immediately became excited. Parking comes with your ticket, so all you have to show is your Touch of Disney ticket, and you're set.

Once you park, you go down to the ground floor, and you go through a security checkpoint where you will get a temperature check. Disney Cast Members do a great job keeping everyone at a safe distance. There are no trams, so you will walk all the way down to Disney CA. The walk is not bad when you're entering the park, but once you're tired after a long day, you will feel it, haha.

Once you walk up to Disney CA, you make the line to enter! You show your online or printed passes, and the cast member will provide you with your ticket and your $25 Disney Dining Card that is part of your $75 ticket to the event. Then the moment you've been waiting for after a grueling year, the smell of happiness and churros!

I went directly to Carthay Circle to see if the waitlist was opened for their dining. I had no idea beforehand that RSVP opened a few days after getting the tickets. There was no waitlist available at Carthay and Lamplight. Regardless of not having the RSVPs, we still had a great and delicious time around the park! I just wanted to try the Lobster Nachos, and I could not eat that, but at least I had the Monte Cristo! Now that was delicious and a must-try!

Just an FYI, Download the Disneyland App, and your life will be easier before arriving at the park for a Touch of Disney. That's how you order your food! You can add your credit/debit card so it can be easier every time you order. Also, make sure you use your $25 Disney Dining card. Unfortunately, you're not able to save it on there, so you will have to manually input the code every time. That was a hassle, but at least it tells you how much your balance is.

The Disneyland App will also let you order your food beforehand, and you can pick a scheduled time to pick it up. The best thing to do is research what you want to eat beforehand. It can be difficult if you're the only one with the app and your family has no clue what they want to eat.

What I had to eat:

  • Churro

  • Impossible Burger with Guac and Pepper Jack (It's a miniature burger, so buy 2 or 3 lol)

  • 1/2 Monte Cristo (The BEST)

  • Impossible Chili Waffle Fries

  • Chili Cone queso (It was my first time trying it, and it was good.)

  • Had some of my husbands Vanilla Ice Cream Cone

  • Michelada

  • Mickey Pretzel

I really wanted a Mickey Waffle, but I could barely walk, and I was tired to wait for it. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed every minute of eating all that yummy stuff. I'm such a lousy blogger because I ate all the food before realizing I didn't take a picture, lol Another FYI, you can't walk and eat around; that is not allowed. Make sure you find a place to eat. Luckily, there are many spaces available.

My baby and my niece had a wonderful time. The characters had a great distance from us, but the interaction was pretty awesome. Goofy and Max are fishing at Pacific Wharf, and Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Daisy are at the Silly Symphony Swings. The best character sighting was Chip N' Dale! They are the cutest. They're by Soarin right in front of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. My little one was so excited, and she couldn't contain it.

I always wish these events like A Touch of Disney and Oogie Boogie Bash were at Disneyland, just how they used to do it for Mickey's Halloween Bash. In my opinion, Disneyland is more magical than Disney California Adventures. Overall, A Touch of Disney was a fantastic event to finally get out of the house safely and in a magical place. Also, big kudos to Disney and their awesome Latin-inspired cover songs of Disney Movie music throughout the park.
